A Living-Room Focal Point: NAVADO Mirrors for UK and European Homes

A decorative mirror can give a living room a centre of gravity: a place where furniture, light and materials come together. For a compact British sitting room, a European city apartment or a more generous open-plan home, the starting point is the same: give the mirror a clear role in the composition.

These are styling ideas for a proposed interior, rather than photographs of completed NAVADO projects in the UK or Europe. The featured designs are made in Vietnam, with individual project requirements discussed directly with NAVADO.

Let the mirror become the artwork

The Aman decorative mirror, 90 × 90 cm, combines clear, bronze-toned and black mirror glass in a circular composition with a face motif. It works as a candidate for a focal wall where a conventional framed picture might otherwise sit. Its expressive outline suggests keeping nearby accessories restrained: a low bowl, a small stack of books or one sculptural vase can be enough.

In a room with wall mouldings, sketch the mirror within the central panel before deciding where it should hang. In a simpler interior, align it with the console or sideboard beneath. The aim is to make the arrangement feel deliberate from the doorway as well as from the sofa.

Choose what the glass will reflect

Stand at the main seating position and look towards the intended wall. A reflection of curtains, planting or a softly lit corner can extend the room's visual story. A reflection of an overflowing shelf or a television may draw attention away from it. Before drilling, move a temporary mirror or ask someone to hold a small reflective panel at the proposed position to test the view.

Where daylight reaches the room from one side, try a position that picks up the window and its surroundings. Check the result at different times of day; strong reflected light can be uncomfortable at a desk or favourite chair. Keep the final placement useful to the people who live there.

Give a long console a different rhythm

For an arrangement that calls for a broad horizontal outline, explore Lima, 140 × 85 cm, with its layered bevelled bronze-toned mirror border, or Sophia, 140 × 85 cm, with a hand-bevelled bronze-toned mirror frame. Compare the overall dimensions with the furniture and the usable wall, rather than choosing from the photograph alone.

Mark the outline with removable paper and view it from across the room. Leave visual breathing space around lamps and adjacent artwork. If the available wall does not suit a standard design, discuss a bespoke size and confirm how changing the proportions would affect the composition.

Build a quiet palette around reflective detail

Warm timber, neutral upholstery and brushed metal details are possible companions for bronze-toned glass. Black accents can echo the darker pieces in Aman; pale walls can allow the silhouette to read more clearly. These are options to test against the actual room, rather than fixed rules for a particular country or interior style.

Avoid asking every surface to compete. If the mirror has an intricate border, try simpler lighting and fewer objects beneath it. Request finish references and review them beside the room's paint, fabric and metal samples before confirming a bespoke specification.

Turn the styling idea into a practical brief

Send NAVADO a wall photograph, furniture dimensions, the preferred model and the delivery country and city. For UK enquiries, add the postcode. Confirm the overall size, glass colours, mounting requirements and any custom details in the agreed quotation. Packing, transport, taxes and installation responsibilities also need to be agreed for the destination.

Ask a competent installer to assess the wall construction, product weight and suitable fixings before installation. The mirror should be supported by the wall, independently of the console beneath it.
